Denmark’s Karsten Bredahl wins the 2nd Gibraltar Backgammon Championships

Copenhagen winner sees off 240 challengers

DENMARK’S Karsten Bredahl has won the 2nd Gibraltar Backgammon Championships.

The Copenhagen-born 46 year old, who won the prestigious title of Super Grandmaster in 2012, beat out 240 competitors from 30 different countries.

The roster included five world champions, while Gibraltar entries counted for 8% of the competition, with more than 16 locals taking part.

Among them was keen backgammon player and tourism minister Gilbert Licudi, who attended the European Backgammon Championships last year.
