Cafe Rojo’s Annette Heywood buys biscuits for pooches cared for by Animal In Need in La Linea

Money made from restaurant's desserts donated to help local animals

DESSERTS have put food on the table for abandoned dogs in need.

Big-hearted Annette Heywood of Cafe Rojo used money from sales of her venue’s special desserts to buy biscuits for pooches currently being looked after by the Animal In Need shelter in La Linea.

It is the latest generous initiative by Heywood, 47, who also makes nail art photos for the charity.

“I’ve adopted my dogs from the shelter and think it does fantastic work,” said Heywood.

“Sadly, one of their puppies died at Christmas so I decided that I should do something more to help.

“In January I started to take £1 from every sale of our two special desserts to use to buy food for the shelter and have managed to raise £147 in just a few weeks.

“It’s gone very well, especially considering that lots of people use January to start their diets.”
