mons calpeCOMMEMORATIVE plaques named after a famous transport vessel have been placed on every block of a housing estate.

Mons Calpe Mews estate, named after the purpose built transport boat made 1954, received the plaques sharing its name after a special visit by Housing Minister Samantha Sacramento. Each building on the estate has been named after the other vessels that worked in Gibraltar port.

Ms Sacramento said: “Many residents in this estate may be too young to have lived through this part of Gibraltar’s history and these plaques will serve to remind everyone of this important period in our history and heritage.”
