DICKENS’ RELATIVE: Lucinda Hawksley

MORE speakers have been announced for the Gibunco Gibraltar International Literary Festival including the great, great granddaughter of Charles Dickens.

Also an award-winning travel writer and broadcaster Lucinda Hawksley has written biographies of Charles Dickens and Princess Louise, among others.

She has also appeared on TV documentaries about the Dickens’, along with the Radio 4 Today Programme and Woman’s hour.

Also attending the festival is chess champion Ray Keene OBE, who has written a world record 200 books on chess, mind sports, genius, mental world records, art and thinking.

Adding to the lineup are Roy and Leslie Adkins who are husband-and-wife historians, archaeologists and authors of twenty widely acclaimed books on social history, military and naval history, ancient Greece and Rome, archaeology and Egyptology.

Then there is philosopher Stephen Law, who has written The Complete Philosophy Files (for children), and the prize-winning The Philosophy Gym: 25 Short Adventures in Thinking, and

Art historian Dr Janina Ramirez is a history of art course director at the University of Oxford’s Department of Continuing Education.

She has written several books including Julian of Norwich, and regularly appears on BBC television and radio.
