FABIAN Picardo has vowed to keep Gibraltar ‘forever British’ during a business trip to London.

Speaking to leading politicians in the city on Gibraltar Day, the Chief Minister said the territory ‘has enjoyed a fantastic year’, adding that increased foreign investment in the private sector and major reductions in unemployment figures were big success stories.

He ended his speech with a promise that the Rock ‘will always remain British’.

Gibraltar Day in London is held every year to celebrate the relationship with the UK and to raise awareness of Gibraltarian issues.

Its importance has escalated since Brexit, with the Chief Minister looking to increase co-operation and communication between the territories.
