NEW year on the Rock is set to be rung in with a pair of stellar classical concerts.

Featuring The European Sinfonietta, the first concert will take place for children at 5:30pm at John Mackintosh Hall Theatre on January 4.

A later performance for adults will take place at 8:30pm.

The Minister for Culture Steven Linares said: “We are very proud to host the New Year’s Concerts for the whole family to enjoy together.

“This year the focus is on entertaining our children and introducing a new generation to the beauty and wonder of classical music.”

Tickets for the children’s concert are free and can be collected from City Hall.

However, tickets for the evening performance are £20 and can be bought from Sacarello’s Coffee Shop in Irish Town.
