A GIBRALTARIAN property firm has been threatened with fresh legal action after failing to demolish a hotel it owns in Wales.

Aitchison Associates, which owns the derelict St David’s Hotel in Snowdonia, was previously fined £1,000 for failing to clear the site after it closed in 2009.

At the time, Aitchison was granted planning permission to build a new 130 bedroom hotel and 76 holiday apartments in its place.

However, the development did not go ahead for unknown reasons.

Notice was served in December 2015 after local residents complained the neglected building had become an eyesore but it still stands.

The Snowdonia National Park Authority confirmed it has written to Aitchison Associates instructing them to demolish the old hotel or face ‘further proceedings’.

Aitchison Associates were unavailable for comment.
