A FASCINATING play which commemorates the 50th anniversary of the 1967 Referendum will debut later this month.

‘The Winds of Change’ will open at John Mackintosh Hall on January 18 and performances will run for several days until January 20.

The play has been written by Jackie Villa and Andrew Dark who also produced and staged a previous play which marked the evacuation of Gibraltarians during the Second World War.

“We are informing the public of our history and we aim to bring this piece of story-telling to the youth so that the story isn’t lost,” Jackie said.

“Our young people need to understand why our people voted the way they did in 1967.”

Tickets are £12 for performances on January 18 and 19, with the performance on January 20, which is a Saturday night, priced at £14.
