THE Chief Minister has made an important visit to London ahead of British officials debating the future of Gibraltar with other EU member states.

Fabian Picardo and his team met with UK government representatives, including officials from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Department for Exiting the European Union.

Of particular importance was a meeting held with David Lidington, a Minister for the Cabinet Office.

Lidington was formerly a Minister of Europe, holding responsibility for Gibraltar.

He is well versed in the issues affecting the Rock and it is hoped that following the meeting he will be able to relay current concerns to UK politicians.

Picardo was accompanied by the Deputy Chief Minister Joseph Garcia, Attorney General Michael Llamas, the Financial Secretary Albert Mena and UK Representative Dominique Searle for the visit.
