GIBRALTARIAN rock band Jetstream are flying high after their first successful British gig.
They brought the house down at London’s Fiddler’s Elbow in Camden, proof of the growing popularity of Gibraltarian music in the UK.
Jetstream played alongside other acts including Joseph Rodgers and Billy Nomad and the Common Army.
“This was the first gig that we got ourselves in the UK through promoting and sending out emails to established venues so that was really special,” Nolan Fresco of the group told the Gibraltar Olive Press.
“Many people turned up just to see us which is a sign of our growing popularity in the UK.
“The deputy manager of the venue has also invited us to return again!”
And it will not be the bands’ only gig in Europe over the upcoming months.
While their home will always be Gibraltar, they are looking to appeal to new audiences with gigs planned in Spain, the UK and Belgium.
“When we leave Gibraltar we miss the Rock, absolutely, it will always be special to us,” Fresco said.
“However, travelling abroad and expanding our horizons is good for the band too.”
